What is the meaning behind “Grimm Fairy Faces”. Why did you choose this name?
This name is inspired by the well-known “Grimms' Fairy Tales.” I chose it because I wanted to create faces, and show that each of them can tell a fairytale.
How long have you been a make-up artist? Were you doing anything creative before this?
Currently, I am [only]focused on makeup, [but] I am also interested in painting on paper. I started my makeup journey in early 2018. However, I should mention that I received my BSc in Computer Science several years ago.
How do your interests influence you and what you choose to create? What sparks your creativity?
I like painting, colors, and makeup. So I enjoy doing all those things simultaneously by painting on faces. I dedicate my time and energy to do what I enjoy, which makes me feel good about life. I usually browse on the net and enjoy looking at other’s makeup looks and also famous paintings. When I find a painting/look that I like, I do not hesitate to paint it on my face.

Why make-up? What about it attracts you to use it as a form of artistic expression?
Makeup is a kind of art that besides its own beauty, it enhances individuals’ outer beauty as well. So in addition to creating beauty, I can help people to feel better about themselves by improving their feelings of self-esteem.
How do you feel when you see or think of a piece of art and replicate it on your own skin?
I feel so excited that I found a piece of beautiful art that I can create on a face. They are like my children.
What emotions or thoughts do you hope to convey through your work?
Calmness, confidence, and enjoyment.
